Ursula Werneke, MD, MSc, PgDip (LSHTM), FRCPsych
Ursula Werneke is a consultant psychiatrist at Sunderby Hospital in Luleå and director of postgraduate education in psychiatry for Region Norrbotten, which serves the subarctic and arctic areas of Northern Sweden. She also holds the position of adjunct professor of psychiatry at Umeå University and is a fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK.
Ursula completed her psychiatric training at the Maudsley Hospital in London and studied health service management at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Her main areas of interest include public mental health, psychopharmacology, and nutrition—fields in which her work has received international recognition. She is currently involved in research projects based in both Sweden and Kenya.
Ursula is the founder of the Swedish Masterclass Psychiatry programme, designed to educate and entertain at the same time.
