Masterclass Psychiatry Lithium

Masterclass Lithium – 5–6 February 2026, Luleå, Sweden

After a one-year break, Masterclass Psychiatry returns with an all-new winter edition: Masterclass Lithium, taking place 5–6 February 2026 in Luleå, Sweden. We are proud to present a world-renowned faculty of speakers who will address some of the most common — and complex — challenges in lithium treatment.

The venue is the Clarion Hotel Sense, located in the heart of Luleå with breathtaking views over the frozen Baltic Sea — a perfect setting for learning and inspiration.

This masterclass will offer in-depth insights into the mechanisms underlying lithium’s effects and side effects, and show how to translate this knowledge into confident, evidence-based clinical decision-making.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

    • Deepen their understanding of lithium’s effects on the brain and how to harness them therapeutically
    • Gain advanced knowledge of lithium-associated renal effects
    • Diagnose and manage renal side effects, including both glomerular and tubular involvement
    • Improve clinical skills in recognising and treating lithium intoxication
    • Apply evidence-based principles in lithium dosing strategies

Who should attend?

This course is intended for specialist and trainee doctors in psychiatry and medical specialties, general practitioners, clinical pharmacologist, allied health professionals with expertise or interest in mental health and psychopharmacology.

We will apply for accreditation from LIPUS (Sweden’s medical education authority) and the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME)

The full programme will be released in September 2025, when registration opens.
