Nahid Tabibzadeh
MD, PhD
Dr. Nahid Tabibzadeh is an Assistant Professor of Physiology and Nephrologist, specializing in renal physiology and nephrotoxicity. Based in Paris, France, she bridges clinical expertise and translational research to explore kidney microvascularization and tubular function in health and in chronic kidney disease, with a focus on innovative models such as organoids.
Her work on lithium-associated nephrotoxicity has contributed to the field, securing national grants, including two French Ministry of Health grants for clinical trials (CiRUS and AMIND) and basic research funding from the French National Kidney Foundation and the National Research Agency. Her interest in nephrology and basic science research was greatly influenced by her patients, teachers, and mentors. Her primary research interest focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of collecting duct remodeling bone and mineral metabolism disorders during lithium treatment.
An alumnus of Sorbonne Université, she earned her MD-PhD with a focus on medullary structures and kidney pathophysiology. She acquired her clinical and experimental skills during fellowships in Hôpital Tenon, Inserm, and Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Her time at Harvard was supported by a Fulbright Program-Monahan Foundation scholarship for French researchers.
