Bruno Mégarbane

Bruno Mégarbane, MD, PhD, is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at Université Paris Cité since 2008. He heads the Department of Medical and Toxicological Critical Care at Lariboisière Hospital in Paris and leads the research team “Mechanisms of Toxicity, Substance Use Disorders, and Therapeutic Optimization (MTOT)” within INSERM U1144 and the Medical School MTCI. 

His research focuses on acute toxicology and addictive substances, combining experimental and clinical approaches. He also serves as Medical Director of the Regional (ESRR C-Tox) and National (ESRN C-Tox) Reference Health Facilities for chemical and toxic threats, and leads the CORTOX mission, coordinating antidote readiness for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) emergencies. 

Professor Mégarbane is a member of the French National Academy of Pharmacy (Section 2). Internationally, he is a past president of the European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists and a fellow of both the American College of Medical Toxicology and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. 

He is Associate Editor of several peer-reviewed journals: Annals of Intensive Care, Clinical Toxicology, Journal of Personalized Medicine, and Toxicologie Analytique & Clinique. He also coordinates multiple university degrees and expert consensus conferences in medical toxicology.
