Summer greetings from Masterclass Psychiatry

After a long COVID break, we will back with a brand-new Masterclass Psychiatry to be held at Brändön Lodge, located within 30 minutes driving distance from Luleå, from 14 June to 16 June 2023.

Masterclass Psychiatry Summer Edition 2023: The Psychodynamics of Uncertainty

We are delighted to welcome back our international psychotherapy experts from the Tavistock Clinic, London and Barmelweid Clinic, Switzerland and of course actress Judith Gorgass. Same crew, different season, new challenges. This time, we are looking forward to taking you through an arctic summer experience with white nights.

As the world has so fundamentally changed since we last met, we want our next masterclass to reflect this and pay tribute to the suffering and bravery of people struggling to survive and get on with their lives in very difficult times.

We will now start working on the project and update you in autumn. Until then, please mark the date in your diaries.

Best wishes for the holidays from the Arctic Circle

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and all the best for the New Year. May the next year bring a grip on Covid, its mutations and its variants so that we can meet in person again.

We intend to be back digitally…

…on Friday, 4 February 2022 with an afternoon webinar on the management of treatment resistant depression with Professor Allan Young from the Maudsley Hospital as the main presenter. As we will even offer some places on site, we will take the final decision on whether to go ahead on 10 January 2022. Please mark the date in your diary anyway; we will keep you updated.

Update: Due to the  ongoing pandemic and new restrictions we will not be able to arrange our planned digital Masterclass Psychiatry.

All set to meet each other tomorrow

All of the speakers and most of our guests have arrived in the crisp cold winterland of Luleå. Clear skies, lots of snow and temperatures below -20 degrees Celsius can be a shock to some and best enjoyed in small doses, which makes it all the more pleasant to cosy up indoors.

Masterclass Psychiatry welcomes you to Luleå

After one and a half year’s break since EAPM 2016, Masterclass Psychiatry is back with a brand-new cutting-edge programme in February 2018.

This time, our topic is Transcultural Psychiatry, because never before, have so many people been on the move. Thus, during their careers, health care professionals are likely to meet many patients from different cultures and backgrounds. Yet, without a sound grounding in diagnostics and transcultural skills many feel ill-equipped to deal with patients from unfamiliar backgrounds.

We are proud to present a faculty of world-leading speakers tackling common but difficult dilemmas in transcultural psychiatry.  So irrespective of whether you work in mental or somatic health, whether you want to hone your clinical skills or reflect on the latest developments in transcultural psychiatry, Masterclass Psychiatry 2018 in Luleå has got it all.
